Damian Hiser has been in healthcare for 20 years, beginning his career in Australia as an Optometrist. He joined UME in 2009 to lead the growth of the healthcare management business in the Middle East.Damian has managed healthcare services in the private sector in Australia for the last 15 years, working in senior roles with a range of providers including large publicly listed companies such as Affinity Health and Invocare, through to not-for profit charitable hospital groups, the most recent being CEO of a network of 4 hospitals in the state of Tasmania.
He has considerable experience in extracting maximum value from healthcare services performing at sub-optimal effectiveness. This has been gained from the development of mutually beneficial relationships with governments and clinicians alike, as well as branding strategies aimed at strengthening a healthcare facility's positioning in its market place.
