Challenges

This scheme required extensive discussions with multiple users to create what is to become a unique and groundbreaking specialist unit. Developing a design that is both supportive of patients with specialist needs, whilst retaining a domestic ambience has been a major challenge.

Ensuring accessibility for everyone, everywhere, was a key requirement. This has been achieved with the help and advice from access specialists which were commissioned at the very start of the scheme. Construction activities are carefully controlled, as the site is facing a busy main road with a school and residential area close by.
