How UME made a difference
An innovative urgent care / first contact system. This is likely to involve a multidisciplinary team of senior clinicians
directly answering incoming calls, dealing with as many as possible of them over the phone, and seeing those they
think need to attend the practice or have a home visit. This has a team space, not altogether cut off from the other
staff groups, with phones and computers, and access to generic consulting room(s).
